Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
- In a separate bowl, heat milk until warm, then add eggs, butter, and vanilla extract.
- Pour wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth, then let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size.
- Roll out the dough and cut into squares.
- Fry in hot oil until golden brown, then drain on paper towels.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a hint of nutmeg to the dough.
