Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  8. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a couple of minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use dark brown sugar instead of light brown sugar.
  • Be careful not to overbake for softer cookies.
