Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup fresh Thai basil leaves
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 package rice paper wrappers
  • 1 cucumber, sliced
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat.
  2. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  3. Add ground beef, cooking until browned.
  4. Stir in soy sauce, fish sauce, and sugar. Mix well and remove from heat.
  5. Soak rice paper wrappers in warm water until soft.
  6. Place a lettuce leaf, some beef, Thai basil, cucumber, and carrot on the wrapper.
  7. Wrap tightly and repeat with remaining ingredients.
  8. Serve with dipping sauce of your choice.

  • These rolls are best served fresh.
