- 6 medium apples, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 refrigerated pie crust
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large bowl, combine sliced apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
- Pour the apple mixture into the pie crust.
- Dot the top with butter.
- Cover with the second pie crust, seal, and cut slits for steam to escape.
- Bake for 15 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 350°F (175°C) and continue baking for 35-45 minutes.
- Let cool before serving.
Notes
- Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence.
- Feel free to mix in some raisins or cranberries for a unique flavor.
