  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
  4. Slowly stir in the boiling water until the batter is smooth.
  5. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  6. Allow the cakes to cool completely before removing from the pans.
  7. Once cooled, frost with chocolate frosting and top with the sliced strawberries.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, try using dark chocolate cocoa powder.
