  • 1 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  4. Stir in boiling water until well combined.
  5. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Let cakes cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Whip the heavy cream to soft peaks, then fold in sliced strawberries.
  9. Once the cakes are cool, layer them with the whipped cream and strawberries.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate cocoa powder.
  • Letting the cake sit for a few hours enhances the flavor.
