- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed

- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar (for rolling)

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- Combine the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt in a separate bowl; gradually add to the creamed mixture.
- In a small bowl, mix the 3 tablespoons of sugar with the cinnamon.
- Shape the dough into balls and roll in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Place cookies on ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until edges are golden.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg to the dough.
- Ensure butter is at room temperature for best results.
