  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup baking soda
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon coarse sea salt

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add flour and kosher salt, mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes. Let it rise for 1 hour.
  4. Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C).
  5. Roll the dough into small pieces and wrap them around the sausage.
  6. Boil water with baking soda, then dip each pretzel bite for 30 seconds.
  7. Place on a baking sheet, brush with egg, and sprinkle with coarse salt.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
