Ingredients

  • 1 pound ziti pasta
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 4 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the ziti pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add minced garlic, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes; cook for another minute.
  5. In a large bowl, combine cooked ziti, ricotta, half of the mozzarella, marinara sauce, onion mixture, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and top with remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until bubbly and golden on top.
  8. Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a more robust flavor, add cooked ground beef or sausage.
  • Feel free to mix in your favorite vegetables.
