- 1 pound ziti pasta
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 4 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the ziti pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add minced garlic, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes; cook for another minute.
- In a large bowl, combine cooked ziti, ricotta, half of the mozzarella, marinara sauce, onion mixture, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and top with remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until bubbly and golden on top.
- Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a more robust flavor, add cooked ground beef or sausage.
- Feel free to mix in your favorite vegetables.
