- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a greased baking dish.
- Bake for 1 hour or until the meatloaf is cooked through.
- While the meatloaf is baking, prepare the mushroom gravy. In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat, add the mushrooms, and cook until they are soft.
- Sprinkle the flour over the mushrooms and cook for another minute.
- Slowly whisk in the beef broth and bring to a simmer, cooking until thickened.
- Once the meatloaf is done, let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with the mushroom gravy.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add herbs like thyme or parsley to the meatloaf mixture.
- Leftover meatloaf makes great sandwiches!
