- 1 pound chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup sake
- 2 tablespoons mirin
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 green onions, chopped
- Wooden skewers
Instructions
- Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces and soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, sake, mirin, sugar, and sesame oil to create the marinade.
- Add chicken to the marinade and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Thread chicken onto skewers, alternating with pieces of green onion.
- Grill skewers over medium heat for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until cooked through.
- Brush with remaining marinade during the last few minutes of grilling.
Notes
- For best flavor, marinate the chicken overnight.
- You can add other vegetables to the skewers such as bell peppers or mushrooms.
