- 1 box cake mix
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1 can ricotta cheese
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, mix together the cake mix, water, oil, and eggs until well combined.
- Spread half of the cake batter into a greased baking dish.
- In another bowl, combine ricotta cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Spread the ricotta mixture over the cake batter.
- Pour the remaining cake batter over the ricotta layer and sprinkle with chocolate chips and cocoa powder.
- Bake for about 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool before serving.
Notes
- For extra richness, serve with a dollop of whipped cream on top.
- This cake can be made a day in advance for enhanced flavor.
