Instructions

  2. Add sugar, salt, and flour to the mixture; stir until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  4. Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour, covered with a towel.
  5. Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
  6. Divide the dough into 8 pieces and shape each into a pretzel.
  7. In a separate pot, bring water and baking soda to a boil; dip each pretzel into the boiling solution for about 30 seconds.
  8. Remove and place on a baking sheet; brush with the beaten egg and sprinkle with salt.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
