- 1 pound lean ground turkey
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 whole wheat burger buns
- 4 slices low-fat cheese
- 1 cup lettuce
- 1 tomato, sliced
- 1/2 cup low-calorie condiments
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Form the mixture into 4 patties of equal size.
- Heat a grill or skillet over medium heat and cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until cooked through.
- In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheese on each patty to melt.
- Toast the whole wheat buns on the grill until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers with lettuce, tomato, and condiments. Serve immediately.
Notes
- For added flavor, marinate the turkey in spices for a few hours.
- You can substitute ground chicken if preferred.
