- 1 pound boneless chicken thighs
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 4 pita breads
- 1 cup tzatziki sauce
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix olive oil, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Marinate the chicken thighs in the mixture for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium heat.
- Cook the chicken thighs for about 5-7 minutes on each side until fully cooked.
- Remove chicken from heat and let rest for a few minutes before slicing.
- Warm the pita breads on the grill or in a skillet.
- Assemble the gyros by placing sliced chicken in the pita, adding tzatziki, tomatoes, and lettuce.
Notes
- For extra flavor, let the chicken marinate overnight.
- Serve with extra tzatziki on the side.
