- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
- In a large bowl, melt the butter and mix in the granulated and brown sugars.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla.
- Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt; gradually add to the wet ingredients.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts if using.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let cool before cutting into squares.
Notes
- For extra fudginess, do not overbake.
- Feel free to experiment with different types of chocolate chips.
