Ingredients

  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons baking soda
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1/2 teaspoon coarse sea salt

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture, knead until smooth.
  3. Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
  4. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  5. Divide dough and shape into flower shapes.
  6. Boil water with baking soda, then dip each flower pretzel for 30 seconds.
  7. Place on a baking sheet, brush with beaten egg, and sprinkle sea salt.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
