- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 8 ounces egg noodles
Instructions
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat and drain excess fat.
- Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until translucent.
- Stir in sliced mushrooms and cook until soft.
- Add Worcestershire sauce and beef broth, then bring to a simmer.
- Mix cornstarch with a little water, then stir into the skillet to thicken the sauce.
- Remove from heat and stir in sour cream, salt, and black pepper.
- Meanwhile, cook egg noodles according to package instructions.
- Serve the stroganoff over the cooked egg noodles.
Notes
- This dish reheats well and makes for great leftovers.
- For a healthier version, use lean ground beef or turkey.
