Ingredients
Scale
- 6 slices brioche bread
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons butter for cooking
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, heavy cream, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
- Dip each slice of brioche into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for a few seconds on each side.
- Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Cook the soaked brioche slices in the skillet until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Serve warm, and optionally sprinkle with additional sugar and caramelize with a kitchen torch for a brûlée effect.
Notes
- For best results, use day-old brioche for a firmer texture.
- Experiment with different flavorings such as cinnamon or nutmeg in the egg mixture.
