Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast, allowing it to activate for about 5 minutes.
  2. Mix flour, sugar, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Add melted butter and egg to the yeast mixture, then pour into the dry ingredients.
  4. Knead the dough for 5-10 minutes until smooth, then let it rise for about an hour.
  5. Roll out the dough and spread a mixture of sugar and cinnamon on top.
  6. Roll the dough into a log and cut it into rolls.
  7. Place the rolls in a baking dish and let them rise again before baking.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes.
  9. Allow to cool slightly, then drizzle with icing if desired.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, let the rolls cool and frost them with cream cheese icing.
