- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast, allowing it to activate for about 5 minutes.
- Mix flour, sugar, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, and salt in a large bowl.
- Add melted butter and egg to the yeast mixture, then pour into the dry ingredients.
- Knead the dough for 5-10 minutes until smooth, then let it rise for about an hour.
- Roll out the dough and spread a mixture of sugar and cinnamon on top.
- Roll the dough into a log and cut it into rolls.
- Place the rolls in a baking dish and let them rise again before baking.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes.
- Allow to cool slightly, then drizzle with icing if desired.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, let the rolls cool and frost them with cream cheese icing.
