Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix the dry ingredients together: flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine the wet ingredients: buttermilk, oil, eggs, and vanilla.
- Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, mixing until smooth.
- Fold in the blackberry puree gently.
- Pour the batter into prepared cake pans.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool before frosting.
Notes
- The blackberry puree can be made by blending fresh or frozen blackberries.
- For a richer taste, consider adding a chocolate ganache on top.
