- 2 cups all-purpose flour

- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup pureed blackberries
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix buttermilk, oil, eggs, and vanilla until well combined.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
- Fold in the blackberry puree gently.
- Divide batter evenly between prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow cakes to cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.

- For an extra touch, top with blackberry frosting or serve with fresh blackberries.
