Instructions
- Bake the chocolate cake according to package instructions and allow it to cool.
- Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
- Cut the cooled cake into cubes.
- In a trifle dish, layer chocolate cake, cherry pie filling, and whipped cream.
- Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with whipped cream on top.
- Garnish with chocolate shavings.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
