  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups brewed espresso
  • 1/2 cup coffee liqueur
  • 20 ladyfingers
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, whisk together egg yolks and sugar over low heat until well blended.
  2. Gradually add milk and cook, stirring constantly, until it thickens.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool.
  4. In a separate bowl, whip the cream until stiff peaks form.
  5. Gently fold in mascarpone cheese into the cooled egg mixture.
  6. Combine espresso and coffee liqueur in a shallow dish.
  7. Dip ladyfingers quickly into the espresso mixture and layer them in a dish.
  8. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
  9. Repeat layering with the remaining ladyfingers and mascarpone mixture.
  10. Dust the top with cocoa powder.
  11. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours before serving.
