Ingredients

- 6 egg yolks
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1 1/4 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup mascarpone cheese
- 1 1/2 cups brewed espresso
- 1/2 cup coffee liqueur
- 20 ladyfingers
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, whisk together egg yolks and sugar over low heat until well blended.
- Gradually add milk and cook, stirring constantly, until it thickens.
- Remove from heat and let cool.
- In a separate bowl, whip the cream until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold in mascarpone cheese into the cooled egg mixture.
- Combine espresso and coffee liqueur in a shallow dish.
- Dip ladyfingers quickly into the espresso mixture and layer them in a dish.
- Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
- Repeat layering with the remaining ladyfingers and mascarpone mixture.
- Dust the top with cocoa powder.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours before serving.
Notes
- For best results, use fresh ingredients.
- Make sure the coffee is cool before dipping the ladyfingers.
