Description

Ingredients

  • 12 oz pasta (penne or rigatoni)
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until onion is translucent.
  4. Add marinara sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked pasta, ricotta cheese, and half of the mozzarella cheese.
  6. Pour the sauce over the pasta mixture and stir until well combined.
  7. Transfer the pasta mixture to a greased baking dish. Top with remaining mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  9. Remove from oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can add cooked ground beef or sausage for a meatier version.
  • Feel free to add vegetables like spinach or mushrooms for extra nutrition.
